EU to Support Public Administration Reform in Ukraine

cooperation with the EU

The European Union has provided €11.5 million in budget support to Ukraine for public administration reform. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance.

The ministry pointed out this is the fourth tranche that Kyiv had received from the European Commission under the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the EU on financing the programme “Support to Comprehensive Public Administration Reform in Ukraine,” which was concluded in December 2016.

“These funds are allocated to Ukraine on a gratuitous and non-refundable basis. They will be aimed at financing the expenditures of the general fund of the state budget,” the ministry said.

The officials also explained that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (CMU) fulfilled a number of conditions for receiving this assistance, in particular:

Taking into account the three previous tranches received in 2017-2019, as of now the total amount of EU financial support provided is €47.1 million.
