Kyiv, Moscow to Evacuate People Through ‘Green Corridors’ in Several Regions

Ukraine and Russia, with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, have agreed on a ceasefire to evacuate civilians. The military agreed on the ceasefire regime on 9 March from 9:00 to 21:00 for humanitarian corridors.

As Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said at a briefing, the evacuation of people was agreed on the following routes:

“We had a negative experience when the commitments made were violated: routes Mariupol – Zaporizhzhia, as well as Volnovakha – Pokrovsk. Residents of Volnovakha ask very much that the promise of the Russian Federation be fulfilled today and people be able to leave the places where they are hiding from the devastating fire,” the minister said.

The day before, about 5,000 people civilians were evacuated from Sumy to Poltava.
