Serious Escalation in Donbas: Two Ukrainian Servicemen Killed, Nine Wounded

Over the past 24 hours, on 11 September, 14 ceasefire violations by the occupation forces of the Russian Federation were recorded in the Joint Forces Operation area.

As a result of the enemy shelling, two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed, nine more were wounded, and one soldier was injured. Three defenders have moderate health status, others – satisfactory, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters reports.

Contrary to the agreements, the Russian-backed militants fired 122mm guns; hand-held and under-barrel grenade launchers; grenade machine gun; tripod-mounted, man-portable antitank guns; heavy machine guns; 120mm mortars; and small arms.

Military positions and civilian facilities came under fire.

In the locality of Novohnativka, a private building and the adjoining territory were damaged. In the area of the locality of New York, the militants dropped 82mm mortars from an unmanned aerial vehicle.

The JFO Headquarters notes that civilian population suffered no casualties.

Moreover, in the Donetsk region, Orlan-10 UAVs were spotted flying and crossing a line of contact twice.

Ukrainian troops opened fire in response to enemy shelling. OSCE representatives were informed about militants’ illegal armed formations actions through the Ukrainian side of the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination.

The other day, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Valeriy Zaluzhny, stated that the Russian Federation continued pursuing its policy aimed at destroying the system of international and European security. In particular, the Kremlin has increased the number of combat training activities near the state border of Ukraine.
