The Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Kursk region department was detained on the suspicion of treason. The Classified Agency’s Public Relations Center informed Russian “Interfax” about this.

The detention was carried out by FSB officers within a criminal case into an offence under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“treason”).

According to the counterintelligence agency, the Police Lieutenant Colonel Borzenkov Dmytro Oleksandrovych, born in 1981, “was involved in the confidential cooperation by a Security Service of Ukraine unit and, by order of the foreign intelligence service, collected and passed the information that was a state secret.”
