President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Deputy State Secretary of the United States Stephen Bigan. The conversation took place after a telephone call between Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

At the meeting, President Zelensky raised the issue of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, in particular, financial and military support of our country. Bigan stressed that Ukraine is a strategic partner of the United States and has bipartisan support.

The president informed Pompeo of the talks regarding the Donbas war settlement and peace promotion via Minsk and Normandy formats. Bigan called the 31-day comprehensive and complete ceasefire maintenance a remarkable achievement.

Speaking about international politics, Bigan highly evaluated Ukraine’s non-interference in the U.S. elections. In addition, the parties discussed the events in Belarus and agreed that the situation needs stabilisation and peaceful settlement.
