DEToday, a Kalyna guelder-rose was planted on the territory of the European Parliament. During the event, Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, thanked the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, and Petras Austrevicius, a member of the European Parliament, for the initiative of planting a Kalyna guelder-rose in front of the Parliament building. The symbolic rose is often depicted in Ukrainian folklore and embroidery.
The sign near the plant reads: “The Kalyna guelder-rose, a symbol of the Ukrainian nation, was planted on November 28, 2023, to mark the European Parliament’s support and solidarity with Ukraine.”
