Ukraine Expects Positive Signals About Its Membership in EU

Ukraine expects positive signals about its membership in the EU. A corresponding statement was made by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“I’m in constant contact with our trusted friend, European Council President Charles Michel. We discussed the current situation on the battlefield and diplomatic efforts. Waiting for the positive signals about Ukraine’s membership in the EU,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.

As a reminder, on February 28, Zelensky signed an application for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union. In turn, the European Parliament supported the resolution on granting EU candidate status to Ukraine. This resolution is now being forwarded to the EU institutions authorised to adopt relevant decisions and all EU Member States.

Meanwhile, eight EU countries urged that Ukraine be granted EU membership under a fast-track procedure.
