The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to open proceedings under an article on the inaction of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, which resulted in the death of Ukrainian marine Yaroslav Zhuravl.

“Today, the court upheld the complaint of Serhiy Zhuravl (the father of a Ukrainian serviceman) and ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to register the case and start an investigation. We do not know what will happen next. But this is the first important step,” serviceman Glib Babich said in his video, posted on a Facebook page.

“The father of marine Yaroslav Zhuravl, who died waiting for help near Zaitseve, filed a lawsuit with the Bureau against Volodymyr Zelensky, current president, the commander-in-chief, accusing him of the actions and inactions that led to his son’s death. The State Bureau of Investigation refused to open the case. Then, a lawsuit was filed with the court,” Babich stated.

Yaroslava, the daughter of the deceased sergeant and scout, Yaroslav Zhuravel , wants to continue her father’s work and become a soldier to protect Ukraine from enemies. For this, she went to the Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum in 2021.
