The destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam, known as the Kakhovka disaster, is not only a war crime, but also a potential act of ecocide committed by the occupying forces of the Russian Federation.

Around 2:50 a.m. on 6 June 2023, the Kakhovskaya HPP dam was mined and blown up, which led to its complete destruction. About 16,000 people were in the disaster zone, and approximately 80 settlements were flooded as a result of this terrorist attack.

People were left without homes, and at least 31 people died. The owner did not have time to save all the animals in the area, so a large number of livestock and pets were left to die under the water. Zoo “Kazkova Dibrova” was completely flooded. Only swans and ducks survived.

We must stop Russia’s war crimes. The International Court of Justice in the Hague is waiting for all who are guilty!

Stop the killing. Come to the March!
