A resident of Zolote fought in the ranks of the illegal armed group “LNR”, fled to Russia and hid there for 6 years, but recently decided to visit Ukraine.

Censor.NET reports about it with reference to the press service of the Third Department of the State Security Service in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“Counterintelligence has established that the suspect joined the illegal armed groups in the spring of 2014. Leaders involved him in shifts with firearms at militant checkpoints. Shortly before the release of Zolote from terrorist groups, the attacker fled to Russia,” the statement said.

The former militant was detained while trying to enter the territory of the Luhansk region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. Against the man brought the case of Part 2 of Art. 260 (participation in paramilitary or armed formations not provided by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If convicted, he faces 3 to 8 years in prison.
