On 12 July, Russian Federation illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire agreement 16 times, using 152- and 122-calibre artillery systems which had been prohibited by the Minsk agreements, 120- and 82-mm mortars, as well as grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms. The press service of the Joint Forces Operation informed about this.

One reported that in the operational and tactical group’s “North” responsibility area, near Novotoshkivske, the enemy opened fire from 152-mm artillery systems, and on the Krymske defenders used 120-calibre mortars twice. Also, it was unquiet near Orikhove. Here, in addition to 120 mm mortars, the enemy also used grenade launchers of different systems, large-calibre machine guns and small arms.

The rebels and our defenders fired next to Khutir Volny, using grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms. During the night, the enemy became more active near Luhansk. In this part of the front, the Russian Federation armed forces used 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms. Over the past 24 hours, five servicemen of the Allied Forces were wounded by enemy shelling, and another soldier got an injury. All Ukrainian defenders were delivered to health care centres and provided with needed medical assistance.

To suppress the enemy’s firepower, our defenders promptly used regular arms and made it clear to the occupiers that their criminal activity would not remain unpunished. According to the intelligence, on July 12, Ukrainian troops killed three occupants and wounded at least eight.

Also, during the previous full day, the armed forces of the Russian Federation from Spartak cynically fired at occupied houses in Avdiyivka. The enemy used 122 mm artillery systems and 120 mm mortars. By the shelling, one bomb exploded in the household garden and damaged the windows of a private apartment. Another one hit and partially broke the house roof, but, fortunately, did not explode. There were no civilian fatalities.

With the decisive action and regular firepower, our soldiers stopped the enemy shelling. The occupiers received adequate response from the United Forces.
