One of the buildings of the European Parliament could become a hospital. This is a proposal to the city of Brussels from the Parliament’s Secretary-General Klaus Welle. According to the website Brussels Times, the European Parliament proposed to use in the fight against coronavirus also about 100 cars and lorries with drivers.

During the pandemic the Parliament’s buildings are nearly empty, there are no visitors, and MEPs mostly work from home. The website Politico quotes the Parliament spokesperson Jaume Duch Guillot who said that one building could be used as a hospital or temporary residence for people who need care and drivers could help carry food or medicines.
