Join National March for Women’s Rights

Promote Ukraine invites everyone to join a Ukrainian column at the National March for Women’s Rights, organised by MMF Belgique.

Come on 8 March at 17:30 to Place de l’Albertine to support rights of women all around the world and especially in Ukraine.

Russia, through its actions in Ukraine, violates a vast range of women’s rights, which is unacceptable and contradictory to international law. From fundamental human rights to life, security, and health to the right to freedom of choice and control over one’s body. Specifically, the war of aggression and illegal occupation of Ukrainian territories by Russia lead to violations of women’s rights through massive sexual violence, human trafficking, forced deportation, torturing, ruthless treatment of female war prisoners against the Geneva convention, and deliberate killing of civilians. Women fighting on the frontline, living under the occupation, civilians who stayed at home and those who were forced to flee, all of them become particularly vulnerable to such violations.
