During his online address to the G20 leaders, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented Kyiv’s proposals that should be implemented for the fastest and fairest end to Russian aggression.

“To liberate our entire land from the Russists, we still will have to fight for a while longer… To fight! However, if the victory will be ours in any case, and we are sure of it, then shouldn’t we try to implement our formula for peace to save thousands of lives and protect the world from further destabilisations? That is why I want to present our vision of the path to peace – how to actually achieve it. And not only for us but also for all of you, your allies and partners,” the Head of State noted.

As the President stressed, Ukraine should not be offered compromises with conscience, sovereignty, territory, and independence.

Ukraine has always been a leader in peacekeeping efforts, and the world has witnessed it. And if Russia says that it supposedly wants to end this war, let it prove it with actions. Apparently, one cannot trust Russia’s words, and there will be no Minsk-3, which Russia would violate immediately after signing. We will not allow Russia to wait it out, build up its forces, and then start a new series of terror and global destabilisation. I am convinced now is the time when the Russian destructive war must and can be stopped,” Zelensky underscored.

According to him, Ukraine’s proposals include the following items:

  1. Radiation and nuclear safety
  2. Food security
  3. Energy security
  4. Release of all prisoners and deportees
  5. Implementation of the UN Charter and restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the world order
  6. Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities
  7. Restoration of justice
  8. Protection of the environment
  9. Prevention of escalation
  10. Confirmation of the end of the war

The Ukrainian leader paid special attention to each item.

He pointed to the already positive experience of the grain export initiative, involving Ukraine, Turkey, and the UN on one side, and Russia, Turkey, and the UN on the other.

Accordingly, the implementation of each of the specified points could work according to a similar scheme with different countries ready to take the lead in a certain area as parties to agreements.

It should be noted that the President of Ukraine said G19, not G20 several times in his speech, hinting that the Russian Federation should be expelled from the forum.
