Ukrainian cities are on fire. The war has come to every house, city and village. Russian invaders have committed a real genocide against the Ukrainian people.

The Russians now shell Ukrainian civilians with particular brutality.

Russia continues to terrorise civilians and residential areas with Shahed drones, Kinzhal missiles and massive rocket fire.

After the New Year, Russia committed the largest massive attack on Kyiv since the beginning of the war. The city was attacked by 35 Shahed-type loitering munitions, and occupiers’ cruise missiles flew at the capital. In total, the air defence forces shot down 62 enemy missiles, as well as 10 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and three Kalibr cruise missiles in Kyiv city and region.

As a result of the attack, two people were killed, and 49 more were injured. Most of them have mine and blast injuries.

It was the second massive attack in a week.

Marta Barandiy, the founder of NGO Promote Ukraine, noted: “Russia is trying to exhaust our air defence to suppress resistance and send the entire Ukrainian people to a filtration camp and then simply destroy them.”

She added, “Since 2014, we have been saying that this is not just a conflict, there is a war going on in Ukraine. Now everyone understood and saw that this is a cruel war for the complete destruction of the Ukrainian people. Let me remind you that Ukrainians died under the European flag and for European values on the Euromaidan. Now, Europe has finally opened its eyes. It is a pity that it is happening very slowly. We have very little time because Ukrainians die every day. And the lack of reaction from the West prompts Russia to launch yet another attack on Ukraine!”

We demand that Western countries heed the calls of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and take decisive measures!

In response to Russian aggression, we suggest taking the following steps:

  • Speed up the provision of air defence systems and ammunition
  • Provide combat drones of all types
  • Provide long-range missiles
  • Approve the use of frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine
  • Isolate Russian diplomats in international organisations
