German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the Minsk agreements and the situation in Donbas during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This news is posted on the Chancellor’s website. However, the German side did not specify the details of the conversation.

The Kremlin’s official website also contains information about the phone call, and the report states that Putin told Merkel that “the Ukrainian side’s attempts to distort the content of the Minsk agreements are counterproductive”.

“Kyiv’s line of selective fulfillment of its obligations under this document is stalling the negotiation process,” the Russian president said.

It should be recalled that the Kremlin insists on negotiations in the Normandy format on the legal definition of the status of ORDLO as soon as possible and the presentation of draft amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.

At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities stated in response that they were not considering the option of amending the Basic Law to consolidate the legal status of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
