The meeting of the North Atlantic Alliance will take place on Friday, 7 January. At the meeting, NATO ministers of foreign affairs will discuss Russia’s military build-up in and around Ukraine and “broader European security issues.” As noted, the meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

“Any dialogue with Russia would have to proceed on the basis of reciprocity, address NATO’s concerns about Russia’s actions, and take place in consultation with NATO’s European Partners,” NATO stated, referring to the situation in Ukraine.

As a reminder, the command of the occupation troops of the Russian Federation steps up combat training activities in units and divisions of the 1st (Donetsk) and the 2nd (Luhansk) army corps.

According to the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, shooting practices, involving artillery, tanks and combat vehicles, are carried out day and night at the training areas of the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“Particular attention is paid to the coordination of actions of motorised rifle divisions, tank crews, artillery and mortar units,” the statement reads.
