On 28 May, Ukrainian veterans had a series of significant meetings in NATO, furthering our collective efforts to support Ukraine. These included discussions with the NATO International Staff, the UK Mission to NATO, and the NATO Public Diplomacy Division. We were also grateful to meet NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană and other visiting groups.

The veterans had the chance to share their experience and thoughts with NATO Staff and Delegations, at a time where the Alliance is furthering its commitment to the Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) ahead of the 2024 NATO Washington Summit.

Since the 2022 NATO Summit in Madrid, the strengthened Comprehensive Assistance Package has seen Allies and partners commit more than EUR 640 million to provide non-lethal military assistance and long-term support to Ukraine. This includes essential supplies like combat rations, medical supplies, military education equipment, and more. New projects are also underway, such as mobile showers, ambulances, and winter clothing.

At the 2023 Vilnius Summit, Allies committed to a multi-year programme to rebuild Ukraine’s security sector and support its transition to NATO standards. The ongoing support also includes humanitarian aid and helping millions of Ukrainian refugees across the Alliance.

Promote Ukraine NGO would like to express gratitude to Philippe Lefevre for helping to arrange the delegatjon and meetings as well as supportive staff from NATO and Mission of Ukraine to NATO.
