President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the Armed Forces to liberate the coastal regions of southern Ukraine from the Russian invaders.

“Ukraine is massing a million-strong fighting force equipped with western weapons to recover its southern territory from Russia… The president has given the order to the supreme military chief to draw up plans. After that, the General Staff say to achieve this goal they need XYZ… This is my job. I am writing letters to counterparts in partner countries,” Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov told The Times in an interview.

The liberation of the south has great political significance and is necessary for Ukraine, he added.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian army continues its counteroffensive in the Kherson region and announced the liberation of another village.

“Thanks to coordinated work, service members of the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade managed to take control of another locality. The Russian occupiers left only terrible memories and ‘dead’ military equipment in Ivanivka,” the Brigade posted on Facebook.

Currently, Ukrainian soldiers are establishing communication with the local population and assisting those in need.

Halyna Luhova, Secretary of the Kherson City Council, reported that the occupiers had strengthened patrolling in the region due to the successful strikes by Ukrainian soldiers on Russian depots and headquarters.

“In Kherson, one can feel the fear of the occupiers… Russians are walking and looking around. When an explosion occurred at a military unit, the occupiers encircled a very large area of the city and conducted searches. Occupiers are in panic: they opened fire in the air when someone was approaching the territory encircled,” Luhova said.

She is also sure that if the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain the pace of the offensive in the Kherson region, the territories will be liberated much faster as the Russians will simply run away.
