Representatives of Promote Ukraine attended a two-day conference dedicated to “Countering FIMI and Election Interference in Taiwan: Implications for the EU.” Opening the event, Petras Austrevičius stated that with European Parliament elections taking place in June, issues related to foreign interference in democratic processes, election interference, and disinformation are a major concern in the run-up to the elections. He highlighted the fact that Taiwan’s January elections demonstrated the resilience of a democratic society, thanks to the work of civil society that actively opposed Chinese interference through disinformation on social media. He expressed his strong belief that Taiwan, the EU and Ukraine can continue to share experiences on countering information manipulation and election interference.
