For one month now, the volunteers of NGO “Promote Ukraine” have called on the public to boycott Lukoil petrol stations in Brussels, Turkish media outlet Zamanbelcika.be reports.

Many people in Brussels do not know that Lukoil is Russia’s second-largest oil company with a market value of 49.5 billion euros.

Moreover, a lot of people do not know that there are about 180 Lukoil petrol stations in Belgium. The company entered the Belgian market in 2007. It further expanded in 2009, just a year after Russia’s invasion of Georgia. Nineteen more Lukoil stations opened in 2014 when Russia invaded Crimea and unleashed the war in Donbas.
