On 28 April 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with Tu-95 strategic aircraft from the Caspian Sea area.
Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with air defence units of other components of the Defence Forces, destroyed 21 out of 23 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, as well as two UAVs of the operational-tactical level.
A Russian missile hit an apartment block in Uman town. Currently, three civilian deaths and eight injuries were recorded in the missile attack at night.
In Dnipro city, Russian missiles killed a young woman and a two-year-old child. In the Kyiv region, two people were injured.
“After a pause of 51 days, the enemy launched another missile attack on Kyiv. According to preliminary data, 11 cruise missiles were destroyed over Kyiv. In addition to the missiles, two UAVs were shot down. According to preliminary data, because of falling debris, a local power line was cut off, and the road surface was damaged in the Obolonsky district of the capital. There were no civilian casualties and no destruction of residential or infrastructure facilities,” said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
