Cyber police found $ 1.1 million from counterfeiters of “anti-coronavirus biological additives”

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed a large-scale scheme of “anti-coronavirus biological additives” illegal sales via the Internet, which caused the state losses of more than 80 million hryvnias.

This was announced by the Security Service’s press-office on the official website.

The Security Service’s cyber specialists have exposed the large-scale sale of uncertified additives via the Internet and a far-reaching call- centres network.

The sellers promoted the drug’s properties that allegedly enhance the body’s resistance against coronavirus. The businessmen profited from people’s fears fraudulently. The deal was organized by a group of companies which were engaged in the dietary supplements sale.

During the searches in the offices, call centres and residence places of the suspects, law enforcement officers seized the documents and instructions which confirmed the illegal activities. More than $ 1.1 million has been found as well.

The Security Service’s employees together with the State Fiscal Service Main department in Kyiv have also ascertained a fact that the dealers had avoided paying taxes and fees in an especially large amount due to the biological additives and other products selling. As a consequence of their actions the state budget losses exceeded 80 million hryvnias.
